A total of 674 monitoring events have been conducted, with the participation of 57 people from 8 fishing communities.
They have invested 4,195 hours, covering 190 sectors and 29 water bodies across 15 wetland complexes.

In most complexes, the probability of recording the species during a fishing trip (visit) is above 50%. Specifically, in Caño Peruétano, it is close to 40%, while in Caño Macías and the Carare River, it is close to 20%.
In the Chucurí Marsh, it drops to just over 10%. Meanwhile, in the Magdalena River, it is 0.4%.
The PVS has also led the response to nine cases of manatee strandings in various locations, such as Bocas del Carare, El Totumo, and El Llanito Marsh, among others.
These actions not only have a direct impact on the survival of the affected individuals but also allow for the collection of additional data to improve species management.
