The sharing of results happened through the virtual seminar "Presentation of results: Research Grant Program in the Andean Amazon". There, WCS showed the progress of the investigation "Identification of geographical areas and priority guidelines for the effective implementation of compensations for loss of biodiversity in the Andean Amazon of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru."
Among the results presented by WCS Colombia, the following stand out:
* The generation of guidelines for the design of compensation plans for projects to be developed in the Andean Amazon.
* Design of a methodology for identifying priority geographical areas for the planning and monitoring of environmental compensations.
Meanwhile, Tropenbos Colombia presented the results of their research "Documentation and local monitoring of the dynamics and cultural and environmental impacts of mining activities in three areas of the Caquetá and Putumayo rivers in the Amazon state, Colombia".
Around 50 people, including university students, environmental authorities and members of “civil society organizations” were among the attendees.
It is noteworthy that these studies are part of the work carried out under the Conservation Initiative in the Andean Amazon (ICAA), coordinated by Conservation Strategy.
