Carlos has worked for more than 17 years in the public and private sectors as a researcher, consultant, teacher and administrator in higher education institutions at national and international levels. He has participated in structuring, managing, writing, organizing, submitting and implementing projects within subjects such as: environmental and educational management, aquatic ecology, aquaculture and fisheries to analyze the state of natural resources. Consultant in international NGOs. He has carried out events to involve indigenous, afro-descendant, urban, rural, academic and scientific communities in activities related to the care, protection, mitigation, conservation of ecosystems. More than 28 documents published.

Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas (Bogotá) and Master's degree in Science - Biology from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He has more than 10 years of experience in applied research on biodiversity conservation, with an emphasis on medium and large mammals, primates, and wildlife associated with strategic ecosystems. He leads community-based monitoring processes for subsistence hunting fauna and contributes to the development of human–wildlife coexistence strategies and to technical support for the establishment of protected area designations at regional and national levels, using a participatory approach that promotes intercultural dialogue and community capacity building.

Christian has a B.Sc. in Marine Biology and more than eleven years of experience working on the enforcement and compliance of natural resource use and conservation policies. With more than twenty publications, his main interests are the ecological transition and the integration of technological tools for communicating about wildlife in the Anthropocene. He joined WCS in 2021 as a marine consultant. From 2024, he is staff member of the Sustainable Landscapes team of WCS Colombia.

Biologist from Universidad del Valle and Master in Biological Sciences from Universidad de los Andes. Since 2009, she joined WCS as a consultant as part of the team for the Avian Influenza surveillance of wild birds in Colombia. She also participated in monitoring and biological characterization for different WCS’s projects. She is currently a conservation specialist assisting in the Saldaña River project, a Basin of Life and the implementation of the declaration route for new protected areas and the assessment and updating of management plans.

She has experience related to research and conservation of wildlife species, mainly in the Orinoquia region of Colombia and has been involved in conservation programs with freshwater turtles mainly with species of the genus Podocnemis. Her main interest is related to the ecology of amphibians and reptiles and conservation of species based on field research carried out by local communities and linked to social appropriation of knowledge. She currently support and consolidates community and participatory based monitoring processes mainly with threatened reptiles of the Colombian Orinoquia and is supporting the identification and recognition of Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures.

During her graduate studies she led the long-term monitoring of the Galapagos hawk contributing to invasive species eradication studies, and avian health surveys to understand the dynamics of avian malaria in the Galapagos archipelago. In conservation, she has conducted wildlife population studies, local and regional threat assessments, and implemented conservation plans and research for endangered birds and wild cats that included tracking animal movement. Currently works in understanding key components in the interactions between wildlife, domestic animals and humans to prevent the emergence of zoonotic diseases.

Supporting restoration projects for Trillion Trees, Rain Forest Trust, PVS, and involved in all technical and structural processes within the TSA workgroup for the management and conservation of the Carranchina turtle (Mesoclemmys dhaly). Interested in environmental conservation, GIS, and monitoring of wildlife species.
