Luisa Rincón Bustamante
Especialista en grandes mamíferos
Biologist from the University of Quindío, with five years of experience in the study, monitoring and management of the Andean bear. Luisa is in charge of supporting the technical coordination of the field work and the management actions of the Conservamos la Vida project developed in the Central and Western mountain ranges of Colombia.
Laura Lizbeth Jaimes Rodríguez
Mammalian Specialist
Laura obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from the Universidad Industrial de Santander. She did a specialization in International Wildlife Conservation in WildCRU, University of Oxford, where she explored the interaction between four Colombian mesocarnivores using co-occupancy models. More recently, she has completed an MSc in Conservation and Rural Development at the University of Kent, where she studied the factors associated with livestock depredation by jaguars and pumas in a region of the Magdalena middle. She began her work as a consultant in WCS Colombia as part of a species monitoring program, and later in gathering information on negative interactions with felines within different WCS projects. Currently, she is part of WCS and her main activities are the study of the large mammal species ecology, study and promote coexistence with predatory species in agricultural landscapes that benefit both, wildlife and rural communities.
John Jairo Mueses Cisneros
Especialista paisaje Andino-Amazónico
Jonh is a Biologist and Master in Science-Biology from the National University of Colombia, with extensive knowledge and experience in the implementation of environmental, social and conservation research projects in Colombia, especially in Putumayo. Jonh has been supporting WCS generating the scientific and technical conditions for the consolidation of the sustainable value of meliponiculture -breeding and use of native stingless bees and their derivatives, and planning projects for the Amazon-Andes landscape.
Jennifer Chávez Zapata
Especialista Procesos Sociales
Jennifer is a Social Worker from Universidad del Valle, recognized for her passion and commitment in the development of her activities as a collaborator. She has oriented her career in the environmental area, focusing on the management of protected areas and the accompaniment of local communities. This has allowed her to manage processes related to environmental conservation and sustainable development. Her experience includes the development of territorial planning instruments, the construction of governance schemes, support to rural communities in the search for sustainable economic alternatives, organizational strengthening, environmental education, and the design and implementation of conservation strategies. In addition, it has promoted agroecological alternatives and food sovereignty within the contexts in which it intervenes.
William Javier Bravo Pedraza
Especialista Restauración
Biologist from the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, with a specialization in Environmental Management from the same university. He has worked in Andean and high-Andean ecosystems, contributing to the development and implementation of research projects focused on the taxonomy and ecology of vascular plants, ecological restoration projects, nursery management, studies of threatened tree species, and community engagement. He has published and co-authored scientific articles, book chapters, and outreach materials such as booklets and guides.
Yesid Llanos
Especialista Social y de Gobernanza GEF
Anthropologist with specialization in government and public policy, with nine years of experience in the private sector and international cooperation. He has worked with ethnic communities, peasants, victims of the armed conflict and LGBTIQ+ communities, applying gender and intersectionality approaches. Her experience includes socio-cultural and economic characterization projects in moorland complexes, environmental management plans, land formalization, economic empowerment, cultural transformation and accompaniment in return and relocation processes.
Luis Felipe Salazar Arcila
Technical Specialist
Felipe is an environmental engineer from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas (Bogotá D.C.) and holds a master's degree in Sustainable Development from Universidad del Valle (Cali). He joined WCS at the end of 2017 as a consultant in Geographic Information Systems - GIS, providing support to land cover interpretation projects, prioritization of areas for the allocation of compensation actions and processes of administration and declaration of protected areas, among others. She currently supports planning and decision making in the line of Sustainable Landscapes. Her main research interests are geographic analysis, interdisciplinary work with local communities, wetland ecosystems, environmental history and socio-ecological systems.

Alejandro Celemín Castro
Asistente administrativo
Alejandro joined Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) – Colombia in August 2023. As our administrative/logistical support in Bogotá. He has extensive knowledge in purchasing management, preparation of indicators, control and custody of petty cash; management of databases, consultation and updating of information in applications and preparation of reports. With skills such as detail orientation, planning and organization, with 10 years of experience in administrative tasks, following instructions and commitment. Technologist in Business Management and Technician in Banking and Financial Services.
Tania Delgado
Asistente de Legalizaciones
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UniCatólica University in Cali, Colombia. She joined WCS in 2021 as a university intern, working as a trainee in the Human Resources and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) department to gain professional experience in various areas within the organization. This has allowed her to successfully take on different roles. She has worked in the accounting and administrative departments, holding positions such as Legalization Assistant, Financial Administrative Assistant for the UNDP project, and is currently part of the organization as the Regional Legalization Assistant in Colombia.
